Euchre Card Game
Euchre, is a popular trick taking card game played with a truncated deck where all the cards lower than 9 have been removed. The game is played with four players in two teams. Each player plays across from his team mate, and each hand begins with the four players attempting to decide which suit is trump. The dealer deals 5 cards to each player, and then a card face up. Each player takes a turn deciding if they want to order the dealer to pick up the card. If the dealer picks up the card, the suit of that card becomes trump, and the dealer discards any card he likes from his hand. If no one orders the dealer to pick up the card, each player takes a turn where they can choose the trump suit or pass. The team that either orders the dealer to pick up the trump card, or picks the trump suit, receives one point if they win the hand, the other team gets two points if they win the hand.
